We took our '07 220 with us on vacation a couple of weeks ago. I purchased a cheap travel cover from "Wally-World" to help protect my Four Winns cover during the 180 mile trip. Sometime during the trip the zippered Four Winns cover for the bimini top came unzipped and blew off. Also, the plastic snap connectors on the straps for the cover rubbed really bad black marks in my gel coat. With lots of scratch remover polish and elbow grease I was able to get the black rub marks off. I trailer to my home lake without the cover (about 15 miles each way) and have never had issues with debris getting inside the boat. Maybe in hindsight I should have gone "naked" and probably would have had less problems than trying to "cover my cover". I did "bungee" my bimini side rails to my tower to help keep it secure during travel. I wish I would have put a bungee around my bimini cover. Well, lessons learned. Does anyone know what a new bimini cover will cost?

Sorry to here you lost some of your equipment!

I don't know what your bimini cover looked like but the one on my H260 has never even tried to come off either when towing or running along. I wonder if it may not have been done up all the way and the wind was able to catch it?
I trailered my H260 for 8 hours from NH to Kingston, Ontario Canada with the bow and cockpit covers in place without a problem. I did take the bimini down though and stored it inside the boat. Many people have complained that the aftermarket covers don't fit right or the straps are a nuisance and like yourself have seen damage from them. The Four Winns mooring cover seems to be the answer because it has a bungee around the perimeter that hugs the cover tight to the hull. Or as you said, go "naked"! I often take the bow and cockpit covers off at home and trailer down to the ramp but that is only three miles.

Can't help you on the cost of areplacement but would imagine you'll be forking out the better part of $100

We lost 2 bimini covers off the Crownline, now we have a fishing leader with a swivel on both ends. One around the pole and one hooks the zipper tab.

If you boat around salt water you don't have to worry about your bimini cover coming off when towing -- you just have to worry about not breaking the zipper when you do want to take the cover off -- boy -- how I love the effects of salt ---
