Finally getting around to mounting a depth sounder in my 180 Horizon.
Just double checking here to confirm that this location in the forward part of the engine bay is a known good spot?
Hmm... Can't add pic.
I'm thinking just ahead of the float sensing switch on the floor of the engine bay. Looks good but I don't know if the hull has any peculiarities in that area that would affect a Faria in-hull transducer.

As far to the back in the engine bay is best. It has to be under water completely. If when on plane the spot it is on is near the surface. Air bubbles get in the water stream and it will read error 3 lines what ever your brand does.

So just forward of the Transom tabbing and evenly between stringers and keel or other stringers.

You tube it there are 3 good videos for installing and placement.

Do you have the option to do a transom mount? It might actually be easier and when installed properly they work well. I have one on our boat for a Garmin GPS/fishfinder
