Hello. Last year I purchased a 1995 Horizon 200 with an OMC 5.0FL (502ACPMDA) and Cobra SX Outdrive (3868065)

I'm having difficulty accessing the water pump to service the impeller. There is very little clearance between the front of the engine and noise reduction foam.

Any suggestions on how to make the job easier? Can the floor shroud around the lower part of the engine be removed?

Thanks in advance!

Why not post up some pix?
I modified the engine compartment wood panels to make them come apart easier and also the big and heavy rear bench seat was replaced with two 36" benches, so they are lighter and easier to remove.

Are you talking about the circulation pump attached to the front center of the engine, or the "raw water pump" near the lower right front corner of the engine? The circulation pump may have a shaft seal that leaks and drips out of a hole on the bottom of that pump. The impeller does not need to be changed. The raw water pump does have a replaceable rubber impeller. That pump can be more challenging. There are 3 or 4 screws holding the back cover plate on that pump. The impeller can be removed and replaced rather easily once you can get to it. Can the front and sides of the box surrounding the engine be removed?

I’d like to access the raw water pump to replace the rubber impeller. I looked again last night and didn’t see any screws to remove the shroud around the engine.

Anyone do a floor or engine rebuild and was able to remove this part? If so, how did you do it?

The lower box around the motor has to come off somehow. Going to have look closer to figure out how.

Yep that has to come off, how could you even winterize the engine if not? Might be fasteners hidden in the carpet.

Problem solved! There were 2 brackets towards the back that secured the lower shroud.

Thank you all!!
