I just recently purchased a 2014 H200 and we are loving it. I've had to fix a few small items, but nothing major, the boat runs like a champ.

The biggest issue I have now is that the speedo works intermittently.

I blew out with compressed air the line on the top of the alpha lower unit, first I did it toward the lower unit and it looked like water and small amount of debris came out. This did not appear to work, so I then disconnected the tube from the back of the speedo and tried blowing air down that way, and I could not get anything to blow out. The line held pressure. I then tried to blow air again from the top of the lower unit towards the speedo this time and air seemed to travel in that direction. But still my speedo works intermittently.

Any ideas?

Could the speedo be bad?

My speedo is a combo with the fuel and battery gauges. Picture below.

Where can I get a replacement speedo? I have not been able to find them online anywhere. I have not called the local Four Winns dealer yet. I suspect that will command a premium.

Also if you look carefully at the speedo picture below, you will notice that the little aluminum cap on the needle post came loose. Anyone have any ideas how to open this thing? Seems like the only way to open it is to destroy it.

Thanks a bunch.

I'd send a picture of that to Four Winns and see if they will send you a replacement gauge.

Is it made by Faria? If so, they have a very good repair program.

I'd be surprised if Four Winns would do much unless it's under warranty - except sell you a replacement gauge....

I agree with determining who makes the gauge and reaching out to them directly. I have had Faria repair/replace my speedometer before.

But before you do that, are you now able to disconnect the tube from the back of the speedometer and blow air through the tube? Could there still be a blockage?

I would first see if you can tell if the gauge is working properly. If it is then maybe replace the tube. If you can't blow compressed air through it easily then probably mold that won't come out easily or will grow back.
A quick google search shows a few things related to how pressure equals speed. Might be worth testing the speedo before you proceed.
