It's a Volvo Penta 3.0L The boat was running fantastic in the last few days. I had been keeping it below 4,000 RPM and really trying to be easy on it. The temp gauge was steady at 150-160, and the oil pressure was steady at 40 when running. Yesterday, this screeching/grinding sound started and you can hear that in the video. And I noticed that the oil pressure is down to 20-30, and it seems like the engine is heating up to 150 much faster. So I'm wondering if more engine cleaner will fix this or if it's a more serious problem. Here's the video with the sound https://imgur.com/a/ntexDIH |

Sounds more like a belt or bearing noise to me….raw water pump could be on its way out which *could * explain the temp…..maybe mist the belts with a water bottle while running to see if tone of screech will change. |

Take off the SERP belt and spin the alt, front circ pump and impeller as well as p/s pump. See if the bearings feel rough in any of the accessories. |
