Hey all,

Does anyone know the specs of the OEM gas struts on the engine hatch for a 1997 H180 RS?

I have the sport bench with the full-width sun pads on top of the engine. The PO replaced the struts with new (and longer) ones, but they aren't holding reliably anymore.

The ones I have on there now are 27" long, 56lbs ones. Does that sounds about right?

Thanks!

You might check your local auto parts store, ebay, Amazon, etc. I believe our '95 190 Horizon had struts with a 60 pound rating. I do not remember the length, but you should be able to measure the length when the deck is open. Make sure you buy ones with the correct end fittings.

I think the ones I installed on my '88 H-200 were 12"--20" 60 lb units. Same big heavy sun pad, 3/4" thick plywood.

Thanks guys! Appreciated!

Sounds like the 56lbs rating aught to be good. I'll just try to get the same as replacements and see how long they last.

Cheers!

I recently changed mine on an '07 H200. I used GSNI-5300-60. They fit perfectly, but, I was hoping to get more lift. My old ones were holding the hatch up, but I thought it was getting harder to get it there. The new ones, when replaced, still held it up just fine, but didn't seem to give me any extra lift. Maybe I should have just spent some more time at the gym instead, LOL.

Thank you for the responses listed as I have a '05 210 Horizon and I am in need of replacement struts.
