Hello all,
I'm very close to being a Four Winns owner (and quite excited about it) The boat I'm looking at is a 2000 Horizon 230. I was able to check out the boat without the owner so I couldn't as him these questions. Among the rocker switches on the control panel were active switches for "exhaust" (I did not see any side exhaust or through transom exhaust) and two switches for "trim".
A.) Did Four Winns put a switch in for captains call exhaust if it did not have it and B:) I did not see trim tabs on the boat so why would it have rocker switches for that? Did Four Winns put switches in the control panel for features the boat did not have?

Thank you for your help and I look forward to posting with you soon.

The switches are present on all the Horizons that were capable of receiving that option. I guess it was cheaper to put the guages in all the boats rather than customize each install to suit the individual order. The good thing is that you can now use these switches to power other things such as LED lighting or add that bad ass thru hull exhaust (my project for this winter!). BTW the wiring for these components is all terminated in the general proximity of where it would normally be connected to the equipment.
I installed some docking lights last winter and used the existing dash rocker switch and wiring to power them.

Thanks Marc. That's great news. Have you bought your thru-hull kit yet? I'm very interested in doing that myself as well. If you have any links for advice, can you pass them on? I'll do the same.
Thanks again.
