I just called my local Four Winns dealer. They quoted me $199 to winterize the boat. $350 to winterize and change the oil. $460 to winterize, change the oil and pull the drive and grease/check out the bellows, gimbal bearing, etc.

What do you think of the prices?

Thanks,
Joe

Well I know to do my old Cobra, it takes me about 3 hrs + $100 or so of materials but I use AF which costs more (the good stuff -100). That includes the oil + filter change, drive oil change, fuel filter, fogging, removing the drive, greasing ujoints and gimble, checking bellows, etc. What's the labor rate and the estimate of hours needed? I like to do mine on a nice 65 degree day in Oct, not on a 45 degree day in November!

About half of what I had to pay for my 2 year service (oils, filters, impeller, pull the leg and do the unis and gimbals, change plugs, lube trailer, test etc.). Very thorough, and I guess that's what you pay for....

My Four Winns dealer charges $259 this is what is included in that price. Winterization includes changing engine oil and filter, changing lower unit grease, drainage of the block, stabilizing the fuel, replacing the fuel filter, fogging the engine, and greasing the gimbal bearings.

I feel that price is fair, maybe its not.

Later

That's about what my local dealer charges, I pay about 1/2 that through an independent guy that's Volvo/Merc Certified.

Nope - not the bellows. Cost me A$1000.20 - a lot more than I was expecting at the time  At times like this I wish I had a Merc as more service options = more competitive pricing.
