Post subject: | Bimini configuration for mooring cover |
Hello all, I've not been able to check this on my H230 yet but does the FW bimini top lie flat so I can put the mooring cover on? I've noticed all the FW's I see have the bimini in the upright position so I'm not sure. I've read about quick-connect connections in the searches I've done. Could that be the answer? While I like the cockpit covers, it looks like it can be a real pain to put them back on after a day of boating. To me, mooring covers are quicker, easier, and better for keeping the boat clean while not in use. Thought's? Andy |

Mine does lay flat but I also had it custom made as when I bought the boat it did not have a bimini. So mine does store under my mooring cover. Only reason I would think you have an issue that your bimini attaches to the windshield. Mine does not. I do have those quick disconnect latches and they are awesome. |

What year? Newer models tend to come with short bows for trailering, storage etc that lower it but keep it about a foot off the back seats/sunpad. |

It's a 2000 and it does connect to the windshield. Looking at the mounts, I'm not sure if there's a way to quick-connect either mount to make it lie on the sun pad. Hmmm. |

I haven't been able to figure out a way to lower mine on my '04 Sundowner, do some boats not have this capability? |

Any pics FC? I'd expect yours to be similar to mine, which has long supports for upright and short ones for trailering. The cockpit cover fits around the supports in either position, so the bimini rides outside of the cover. |

Unfortunately I don't think it is possible. The rear support poles would have to be shor enough to fold up against the front support poles that attch to the windshield. It looks like your front poles are shorter than your rear. My bimini that I had made sits further back and has this option like I said. I am going to have some shortie pole made. |
