Searching for a fourwinns trailer for my "new" 2002 240H. Does anyone know what model # i should be looking for? I have found a four winns that has a capacity of 4840 lbs.... The distance from the front bumper to the end of the bunk is 19feet. Not sure if this trailer is long enough. All feedback welcome.

I have basically the same boat. That trailer sounds too small.

What part of the country are you in? If your buting a trailer new dont get a Four Winns brand, they are cheaply made.

The Four Winns trailers are not as bad as many make them out, IMO. I think the failures are from trailers that have travelled many miles especially at once but my trailer regularly gets hauled 50 miles each way and I have never had a problem. BUt.... you will have an easier time buying an aftermarket trailer rather than trying to find a Four Winns one. I think most people that have trailers will tend to keep them for off season storage so they rarely come available. That being said... I think I saw one on Ebay recently. Search "Four Winns" I do atleast once a week.

You can get a FW trailer brand new from a dealer. The price on the trailers are not as bad as many would think.

Just a note on their quality. Around 1999-2002 they were not that great, today they are much much better and I would choose one over any other trailer for towing. I tow about 500 boats a year and there is nothing that tows as well on the market, I have towed them all.

Any trailer dealer should be able to fit a trailer to your boat. I agree that FW trailers have left a lot to be desired in the past. Still on the fence as to the recent (2009) upgrades available in terms of price point versus after market competition. Were I in your shoes, and timing was an issue, I'd get the boat pulled and temprarily put on blocks while researching trailers hard. I don't know if you intend any brackish or salt water use, but going for a trailer with all SS nuts, bolts, washers, etc. would be pretty high on my wish list. Hubs with bearing buddy type seals goes without saying. High up on the list would be gatorhide like encapsulation, and real wood bunks with carpet installed using SS staples (lot of trailers don't surprisingly). Spare rim(s) with tire(s) for safety. Some would add LED lights, and self retracting straps, although this can be added "down the road".

I have no complaints at all about my FW trailer and I haul it thousands of miles each year on pretty ordinary Australian roads... as I have said previously, sure there may be some better trailers out there, but there are a hell of a lot that are worse than FW's!
