Post subject:  Ski/Tube Question
Can I tow two tubes or two skiers at the same time and just connect both ropes to ski-eye?

See boats towing two tubes all the time. Never really see two skiers. Is it just not safe to pull two skiers?

I found a gizmo at walmart which hooks to the ski-eye and gives you two connections.

Sure it's safe to pull two tubers or two skiers.
for skiers.....one rope has to be a little shorter than the other. I forget exactly how much.....but i'd guess 3 to 6 feet would do it.
that allows the skier to change position behind boat by simply ducking under the others rope....while the other skier raises his.

i keep my 2nd ski rope 6 ft shorter than the longer one. I also ensure that the "better" skier is on the shorter rope.....they should be able to manuver under the longer rope without getting de-capitated.

Now I know why I was always put on the longer rope! And, to answer the other part of the posters question....sure, hook both ropes to the same bolt on the back of the boat.

Well I got two ropes for the tubes. I tried it but ended up nervous about the ropes crossing. Opted to abort the dual tubes and just have have fun with one. --- Still had a blast though. A cold front blew into North Texas on Saturday. Pretty choppy water no good for the skis

yes, those ropes will remain very close to each other for 10-15 feet off the back of the boat.......but have no fear about them crossing. the only way they'd cross is if the tubes actually changed position on the water. and, even if they did....so what? It's much hard for tubers to switch positions than it is for skiers....as 1 of the 2 skiers actually uses a shorter rope. With tubers....the ropes can be the same length.

we like to keep the tube ropes the same length and have the kids try to jump from tube to tube. great fun and no worry of rope burn.

When mine double tube.....they have two kids on each. each tube tries to dispatch the other tube's riders. Kinda like wrestling on the lake. It's made for some great laughs. Too bad I'm always driving and can't share in the visuals.

All Good Info above! As mentioned two tubers or two skiers can be a lot of fun! I beleive the standard length for the towropes is 75'!
