It's a new 2005 190, sunsport interior with the 5.0 V8 engine.
Dealer is trying to move it since it's last year's model.

He's wanting a little over $23k for it. He said the MSRP is around $35k. Is that a load of bull or the truth?

The boat is several states away, so not sure how we'd get it here. He's emailing pics today.

We mainly need something for weekends, cruising, tubing and skiing. We've got 3 young children and will occasionally bring another family with us. I'm thinking 19 ft may not be big enough (?)

Anyway... I don't even know much about the FW boats. How do they compare to Montereys, Sea Rays and Crownlines?

Thanks so much.. as you can tell I'm a newbie!!

i would put all three brands you mentioned with FW on the same level as far as quality and pricing.

It comes down to model preferrence and size.

You can almost never get a boat too big. I would say 19' might be tight with 2 adults and 3 kids, tubes, cooler and everything else. Very tight with another family, but doable. (8 person max) The 19' might be a great place to start as a newbie, but start saving now for the upgrade in 2 years!

The price sounds right...ask them to throw in the extended wrnty for free and close the deal on it. You might also ask about the FW funship: the deckboat gives a bit more room and a swim deck is almost a must.

if the kids ski and wakeboard, also get a tower added.

Mary,
the boat should suit you fine for now. But keep in mind, kids want to bring friends along and you've already talked about another family. I'd say the boat will be a little cramped with more than your family.
The FW will give you years of pleasure and is a high quality boat. If you keep it in good shape, you can upgrade in a few years to a larger boat...as the kids grow larger.
