Hey guys...anybody else feeling the same way? When we are out on the boat (summer of course), if you dont keep the rubber swim platform mat wet, its gets hot as you know what. I am going to start this season without it and see how we like it...all hoping nobody slips off the platform. Dont get me wrong, the grip it provides is awesome, but it just gets sooooo hot it burns your feet if you dont keep it wet.

I must agree. I just try to keep it wet. With having little ones with us we need the grip.

We have kids too, and thats one reason we have left it on the boat.

The swim platform does sit pretty close to the water so not to hard to keep it wet if your sitting on it or hanging out in the water.

This worries me as my new boat that I am waiting on has the mat...but the platform is REALLY close to the water so should be able to keep cool.

What kind of vessel are you waiting on?

The stock mat is too dark and everyone complains about it getting hot. I'll be sticking down some gator grip (or similar) pretty soon.

Do the boats with the mat still have non-slip under them? We haven't had a problem with anyone slipping, without a mat.

Warning about gator grip, it bleeds. By this I mean if you walk off the gator grip to your sun pad you will have black foot prints everywhere. When gator grip is asked about the problem they state it is made for wakeboard boats where the platform stays wet and clean. Four Winns light grit anti-slip SUCKS. I had Colbalts diamond pattern put on my platform, its 1000% better then Four Winns.

I remember that now. Why can't they just sell white? I would much rather have that anyway.
Sounds like a BS excuse for a faulty product.

Brent - Tuk, over on http://www.lakepirates.com has this stuff in black on his boat. The "bleeding" must only be when its new because he doesnt have any issues...or at least didnt tell me anything about it.

Here is his boat: Image

Mark and Kenny both have to scrub it with a brush before they come out.
