Ok, Horizon owners...take a couple minutes and post the mods/upgrades you have done to your boat and maybe even what the advantage is. Surely we can learn from each other and really get the most out of our boats.

For me, my list is simple:

1. Added iPod connection via Sony adapater through the Sirius receiver.
2. Added a secondary battery with a Perko switch

Planned:
1. Amp and subwoofer(s)
2. LED's to accent the interior (on order 1-27-09)
3. Extended swim platform - someday

Let's see.......

Completed boat mods

1.Added Docking Lights
Results- Not worth the effort!
2. Rearranged my battery locations and added a third battery
Results - Better weight distribution and storage space in rear compartments.
3. Removed potable water system.
Results - No benefit just more storage space
4. Relocated Fuel Filler to rear of boat.
Results -Easier to fuel up at the gas docks. The gas guy sits on the swimplatform instead of pushing the boat away from the dock so he can insert the nozzle. Plus more storage space below because the vent and fuel lines don't cross the storage area.
5. Stripped off all the old decals; they were beat up pretty bad so I just decided to remove them

Completed trailer mods:
1- Replaced winch strap old one was frayed in several spots
2- Replaced 5 pin connector old one had exposed wires where the insulation was damaged.

My planned mods.... See this thread:

http://www.smwebhead.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=2449&hilit=early

reality says I will only complete a few of those changes before the season starts and then poke away at a few more as the season progresses

Txjole2,
What kind of sound system did you add and who did it? I am considering Wet Sounds. It was recommended that I have a stereo shop install it rather than the Four Winns dealer; definitely not something I would do myself.

See "Walt's Mods" for what's been done...

To do...
Thinking about some Fat Sacs and ballast/deballast system for boarding/weight distribution.
Possible third batt for the stereo/amp
Swim platform remote for stereo
Running a trim switch to my remote (FOB) so I can run the trim all up and push off the beach or maint. remotely.

Added Hummingbird fish finder ( doesn't help catch anymore, BUT I get to see the bottom contour & water temp) Mounted it in the cup holder on the dash starboard side out of the way yet great viewing.Cut out a piece of poplar wood, painted white, put two electric tape cases under the wood & it sits perfect

Added Attwood Flush mount rod holders to the aft sides.
Definitely like these, nice rubber caps hardly noticeable.

Added Stern mounted OEM remote O/D trim switch Great Mod!!

Spare tire bracket W/two wheel locks (package came W/4, 1 on the 2
mains) Makes it tougher for weasel thieves to steal spare?!?!?!

Added 5th wire adapter to FJ for trailer back up solenoid.

Replaced the plastic bilge thru hull W/SS one.

Better stern tie downs then stock racket ones.

Gonna make some kind of storage box & mount under dash WAY too
wasted space under there.

Man....I want to add that platform!!!

I considered the nuclear reactor as well, but to me, the additional 2 feet of the platform is by far a better value.

Good topic aguyindallis!

Mods completed:
Bow-filler cushions
Stainless Steel cupholders
Kicker 5-channel amp
10-inch JL sub in sealed box
MP3 jack
Added 2 additional 6.5 Clarion's to the cockpit
Fixed socket for light pole
Cut out notch in anchor locker so anchor fits easier
Replaced jack on trailer (because I stupidly destroyed the other one)
Installed 4-5 prong adaptor for trailer lights on tow vehicle

Planned for next year:
Seriously considering adding trim tabs (curious on people's thoughts on this one)
Would love to replace all six 6.5-inch speakers with the Polk db651's if I can score a good price on them (I blew it not jumping on the $30 a pair deal last year)
Replace trailer bearings
I better stop there on the off chance my wife reads this and tells me to stop spending money. :)

Reading this again I felt compelled to edit my old post to move items from planned to completed, and add to the wish list.
