I am seeking the original stripes for my 89 horizon.

What is the best way to find them? I have contacted one of the local dealers and they said they do not have them nor can they order them.

Is my next step to call every Four Winns dealer across the country and see if someone has a stock roll?

These are the stripes I am looking for. I can supply a hull vin if needed to identify them.

Any input is appreciated! I really want to get my stripes cleaned up. Despite the image, the small I have no problem replacing any of them. I am having new registration letters made, as well as the boat name. I just want everything to look fresh.

thanks!

Rob

Trying to get replacement stripes is a waist of time. Been there, done that.
Go to this web sight, talk to these guys, they are helpful.

Ask for their color chart. Use it to match the stripes that are on the boat. I have an 87 horizon with similair stripes. I removed the upper stripe because it was toast and replaced it with a simple 2 color pin stripe--Looks great. I matched the lower colors and did the repair--Looks good from 5 feet away, check it out

That is quite impressive! What did it run you to have done? How much did it set you back? Any when you said 5-feet away what do you mean?

Any shots of the top stripes??

I am thinking of just removing the top stripe and leaving it off. I have seen many of the same boats remove the stripe, and it seems to look good. I need to give the gel coat a good buff in the gray areas anyway.

BTW there are those original stripes going on e-bay currently. Your colors etc. See the link below:

If you put your nose up to the stripes, you will notice the slight miss-match in color and the seam where the original stripe and new stripe meet. Step back 5 feet and it looks great, you woun't notice it untill I point it out. I bought the stripes and did it myself, along with the rest of the boat. http://www.smwebhead.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=2488 --I ordered the matching colors in the right width. I also have a middle stripe about 1/2 inch silver. Total was about $120 for everything, including the upper pinstrip. You can order a dual or triple color pinstipe in different widths for upper, will look great.
That was a nice find on Ebay--I guess I have to eat my words about nobody haveing stripes for our boats. It seems someone has to have the old stock from Fourwinns.
From the pic of your boat, your stripes look good, are you sure you want to mess with them, they are alot of work.
Its GREAT to see guys with the older HORIZONS--Nice boats through the years!
Here is the pic of the upper (silver & red), best I can come up with--Also found the FOURWINNS lettering on EBAY thats in the PIC
