Just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Bill and I live in Edmonton Alberta. My wife and I sold our 186 Larson and bought a 08 H210 last fall. We got one whole hour on it before it got winterized and stowed for the year. We love the boat. We got the EFI 5.0 ltr and I can't wait to pull with it... damn break in period. Oh yeah and all the lakes are frozen. Any way thought I would say hi. Any other Alberta owners around here?

Welcome Aboard! Bill
We all here are a friendly bunch and we can probably be of assistance on just about any question you may have. Ask away even if you think it is irrelevant....we'll set you straight.

I'm a fellow Canadian from Ontario and our lakes are frozen here too.

Thanks. I do have a bunch of questions and I will be looking for lots of answers. I am a mechanic by trade and take great pride in doing things myself and doing them right. While I commend FourWinns for making a great boat there are some additions that I would like to make. Still a little cold here for any working time though.

Hi Bill, I'm from Edmonton and have an 08 H200, second year on the boat. I also sold my previous boat, a Larson Flyer which gave me many many years of trouble free boating. Our boat is stowed indoors waiting for spring and every morning on my way out it gives me this look, take me out, take me out.....

90 days and counting down.....

I don't know if you've ever dealt with your dealer before however I've dealt with them for going on 30 years and have yet to be let down, good bunch even when they're running their behinds off.

Welcome...

When is ice out for the boaters-from-the-north? Will you guys be wet by April?

Everyone from around my cottage tends to wait until mid May due to the fact that depending how far north you are the temperature can still drop to below freezing overnight.

Hey, I'm from Edmonton too.....bought a 2008 H200ss. What lakes do you usually visit?

I had to chuckle when some mention boating here in April.....the earliest I've ever been on the water is about the 3rd week in May and it was dam cold!

Only if we're not carefull stepping off the ice floes, (g).

Bout the middle of May for the hardy but it warms up quickly after that. I remember going for a ski once on holloween, beautiful day, lake like glass, thought that with a wet suit and a wind surfer jacket things would be OK.

Jumped in and immediately realized where the raisins for Raisan Bran come from......... and I thought Polar swimming was nuts.

otoolea,

Long Lake for the weekends, but most of the time it's out to the Meadow Lake area, clearest water around, sandy shores, calm winds, that's what I'm talking about. Every second week in the summer it's a 4 day weekend for me and my wife has the entire summer off. Teacher's, they don't like to let work interfere with their days off.....

Cheers all

Well I have to say after getting a whopping 9 hours on my boat I can say I love it. The dealer however is another story for another thread. I will be posting one under Shipwreck Marine.

In that case, you need to move down here to Kansas City and open a boat shop. We NEED you.
