Post subject:  Listing 200 horizon?

I just bought a 1995 200 horizon with OMC 5.0 The first time I took her out I noticed and felt the boat listing hard to the port side at speeds above 20 mph . The only way to correct this was either to slow down below planing speed or by turning the wheel the opposite direction. Why is it doing this and how can i fix it. Any info would be appreciated Thanks.

I have a 2004 190 that does the same thing. Don't know what to tell you other than as far as I can see this is normal.

I have the identical boat. I put one of those whales tails or shark fins or whatever they're called and it caused my boat to do the same think. I took it off and its back to normal.

It could also be prop torque. If your balanced with weight in the boat then installation of trim tabs would control the problem.

A friend of mine just put automatic trimtabs on his 22 foot stingray and it made a world of difference. That and it puts him on plane at half the speed.
Look on iboats.com. They have them with blemishes for half the price. They are stainless and if there's the smallest scratch they sell them super cheap.

Thanks for all the info everybody. To answer a few Q's ... Boat is loaded evenly as far as batteries and people ..it seams that i need to overload to one side to run correctly..I also have a fin bolted on to the outdrive... I will try going without the "foil or fin" and see if that makes a differance. I have also heard about the tourque stabalizers and these seam like a cheap fix if they actually work. I have a 32" Trojan as well so I know how important trim tabs can be.
