"Walk-through doors keep wind, chill and weather out of the main cockpit on open bow models. That means you can start boating earlier and stay boating longer each season."

One of the few options I didn't order with the boat, that I kinda regret not having. I figured I could always just snap on the bow cover, which is true, but not nearly as convenient.

Any opinions out there from folks who did get the walk through doors option for their Horizon?

I wish mine had these also. They are on my to do list, but are very pricey. Wish there was someone after market that made them. I can see paying $100.00 or so for them, but if memory serves they are more like $300.00.

They came with our 240.

Used alot on cool mornings. I HIGHLY recommend them.

Even at a couple hundred dollars - it's a great deal.

Shoot the guys at Winnisquam an email and have them price a set out. Might be cheaper than you think!

I wish ours had them as well. I do not think they were offered when our boat was made so no chance of adding them. We ran around last spring with the bow cover on, but the center support pole is so high it really disrupts my view which is not good. My idea was to add a few snaps on either side of the walkway and have my canvas place make me a piece that would essentially do the same thing as the doors. Would attach to the windshield...just need to figure out what I am going to do where it meets the floor/carpet.

If you are really set on the doors...call Grand Sport Center (didn't you buy your boat there). They have always been very competitive on parts.

I have them and close the doors often in early spring or late fall. They also make cruising more enjoyable on cool summer nights.

Just e-mailed Ryan at Winnisquam to check on what the real price is on them. Get back with his answer as soon as he responds.

They're very worthwhile IMO. You'd be amazed how much difference they make in air movement.

I also wondered about this. We use the bow snap-on cover for now, but was also thinking about just having a piece of canvas made to fit the area and adding snap's along the sides.

On the smaller Horizons - is there a spot for the walk through doors to flush mount? If there is - then there's a great add on. If there isn't - then I'm inclined to agree with Impulse on the canvas/snaps.

At least the one's on our 240 were very stout and well built. I loved the stainless hardware and how well they looked and performed.

We have them and find them useful every trip. Our boating is in the ocean and it is normally dead calm on the way out and quite choppy in the afternoon. No one wants to be in the bow then and we shut the doors and open the throttle for home.

You're in luck!:

"Fits: All open bow boats '96-Current excludes '96-'98 Horizon QX/RX, 170 Horizon, 170/180 Freedom & '06 180/190 Horizon."

Yeah I should give Grand Sport a call, the price might not be too bad on a self install.

Cougar, I remember seeing them on a 210 in the showroom they are pretty much flush mount, and open towards the stern rather than the bow.

Ha, found some more pics!

Just my luck. I like the canvas idea though, it would be better than messing around with the bow cover.

Quoted $349 plus shipping + installation. Still going to do it though.

Agree with everyone else. Love mine when it is windy or cool. The bow canvas is nice and everything, but it just doesn't stop nearly as much air if you put the canvas on but leave the doors open. Having the doors buys you 10 more degrees in temperature, at least, where you will still be comfortable.
