Just getting into using the forum to reach out to other Four Winns boat people. I have a 2008 H310 . She is sitting on blocks shrink wrapped on my driveway. I have to look at it everyday and sigh! What I wanted to inquire about was opinions on trailering a boat this size. I live on the south shore of Long Island NY and there are many water ways to explore. |

Congrats! and Welcome to the Forum. I beleive you will need a 3/4 ton truck as the 310 is too heavy (with trailer) for a 1/2 ton. Here in Washington you would also need to get a Wide Load permit whcih is quick and easy to get at any Licensing agency. (cheap for a 3-7 day permit). No pilot car required as it is under 10' beam. I am not sure about regs in NY... However, set up right you shoudl have no problems trailering it as I ahve friends with similar size boats that haul them regularly 200 miles each way between our lake and Anacortes... |

That 310 is a BIG boat. Our new, local FW just sold one and I caught a peak of it in the water. man - it's LOOOng. That boat will be sweet with the twins. And the mid cabin is a nifty layout. Welcome! Post pics! |

Welcome dougnov257! And congrats... I boarded the 310 at the NY Boat Show a year ago and it is impressive. What boat are you coming out of and where on the south shore do you do most of your boating? I have spent a lot of time cruising the waters between Hampton Bays and Fire Island (on my Formula). And who needs a trailer? The 310 will be terrific to lock through and motor around to The Sound - and even up The Hudson. And yes, pictures are a requirement. |

Welcome Aboard! You will enjoy your new toy thoroughly come summer! The 310 is an awesome boat and will handle just about anything you want to use it in! The day bunk option and the abundance of space will make the boat an excellent multi family gathering spot. |

Nice! good to see I'm not the only one in LI who fishes out of an I/O bowrider! Where on the South Shore are you, I'm up in Northport/Huntinton Bays. |

We boat on the south shore of LI. We are looking to dock this summer in Wantagh or Merrick or Freeport. The thought of the trailer is still on our mind so we can easily transport to the North Shore, Hamptons, etc. Then we can cruise around these areas rather than 3-4 hours of burning fuel to get there by water. She is large enough to enjoy all day but not truely sleep over night. Plus running off shore is no problem but even in a large bowrider you have no protection from the elements. We did the trip arond Manhattan and that was amazing. But by the end of the day we were shot. |
