I just bought a 2000 H190 with the fuel injected V8. The boat is awesome...fast, smooth and room for the whole family. We took it out for the first time Friday evening (water was too cold for skiing so we stuck to boat riding). I will post some pictures soon...busy cleaning & waxing for the season right now.

I have a few questions that I couldn't find answers to on the forum and am looking for some advice:
1.) Speedometer: It has the VDO guage with the paddle speedo. I have read several posts about the issues with the VDO guage system. So far, everything seems to be working fine (keeping my fingers crossed) with the exception of the speedometer. It appears to work at very low speed, however, at any moderate or high speed the speedometer max's out. The only info I could find on trouble shooting referred to the speedo not working at all. Has anyone experienced this problem? If so, any advice for troubleshooting? I know boat speedo's are not dependable but I would like to have an approximation of what speed we are running...besides, it just bothers me when something isn't working right

2.) Anchor Size: I know this is dependent on several factors. Assuming I will be anchoring on a sandy or weedy bottoms (sand bars and fishing with the kids) what size anchor works best. Obviously, I want the smallest anchor that will still get the job done. I'm planning to use a 'danforth' style anchor

3.) Trailer Tire Pressure: I have 225/75 R15 Tires with a max tire pressure rating of 65psi. What pressure are you guys running? 65 seems really hight to me. I am running 55psi right now.

I have a danforth style anchor with chain that holds pretty much anywhere. The dealer threw it in with the boat, so I didn't have much choice. I believe it's a 10-12lb, but it fits in the locker under the front seat.

I believe the rule is to run the tires at max psi to avoid flex in the side walls while driving. My tires have a 50psi max and that is where I keep them.

I'll take a shot at a couple of these.
1. not sure on the speedometer. my pickup wheel was busted off when I bought my boat. I plan to use gps and find a pickup wheel at some later time.
2. I have an 8 & 13 lb danforth anchor. The 13 is way too big for my 200. The 8 is about right. It doesn't fit well in the front anchor locker though. I'm looking for another 8 that might fit in the anchor and use my other for my rear anchor. Make sure to get a chain on you anchor. It makes a world of difference on setting the anchor properly.
3. Not sure I have the right advice here, but I would run max psi. Just make sure to set it when your tires are cold.

Thanks for the feedback guys...I little more reading on the Carlisle website proved useful. Tire Mfg says to run tires at the 'max' PSI which is actually the recommended PSI so I pumped them to 65psi. Bought an 8lb Danforth anchor that fits perfectly in the bow. Only time will tell if its big enough.

Still trouble shooting the speedo. Now I'm down to fixing the speedo and the seat adjuster (appears someon stood on the seat while it was in the lounge positon and bent the slide rail). To my surprise a new slide rail was $30 so a new one is on order. We can't wait to stop tweaking and start boating.
