Post subject:  Grounding for Dashboard

Hello All,

I installed my replacement dash last weekend and everything worked fine, until last night. The speedo went our but the tach and everything else worked. I slowed for a no wake zone and the tach went out. The hour meter still works and the tach needle will move to and off Zero when I turn the ignition on and off but nothing else. I suspect a grounding issue.

Does anyone have experience in troubleshooting the ground for the dash? I've got the schematics and will investigate accordingly but if anyone has a tip, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks.

My advise would be to get out an Ohm meter, find or create a good ground to the engine block and then start checking continuity. Probably something loosened up on you.
