I am looking at a 93 210 Horizon with sport seating, custom tandem trailer and the 5.8 Fuel Injected OMC Cobra motor/lower unit with 700 hours. The boat is in great shape, no visible issues and the interior is near perfect, one seam on back deck needs to be restitched about 4 inches. Always stored under cover, out of the water. Motor has 700 hours and has had a compression check, runs very smooth, engine compartment is as clean as brand new.

Also has a custom cover, full camper enclosure that has never been used, stereo and cd player included. Trailer has 4 brand new tires, no signs of rust and just had the brakes redone.

I know the owner and am very comfortable with the history of this boat, very well kept fresh water boat. About the only things I see that could be better are the pin striping that has an occasional crack and the carpet on the swim platform could be replaced.

Is $8000-$9000 price range reasonable? Its hard to gauge the value of older boats when they are in extremely good shape.

Looking for anyones thoughts on the price range. I have been monitoring this forum for a while in anticipation of the possibility of purchasing this boat for the last year, great spot to learn about the Four Winns boats.

Thanks in advance,
Tboscstm

Keep in mind that this is an OMC powered boat, and they are out of business, and have been for a long time. The Cobra drives were fine as long as they were adjusted and maintained correctly. The problem is that certain parts are getting hard to find and/or are just not available. Bombardier bought the assets of OMC and was not intending to support the stern drives, only the outboards...so you can get common items like impellers, thermostats, etc but certain parts are hard to find. I don't think that boat is worth near that, even in mint condition because of the OMC issue. If you are comfortable spending that much I'd go for a slightly newer Volvo or Merc powered FW.

I agree with Lou 100%. The boat may run fine today, but 700 hours and the overall age of the motor and O/D would lead me to believe a re-build is not too far away. Parts will be difficult at best to find for the OMC.

I have that same boat and engine package and it has 550 hours. I have had it for 6 years and it has never given me any trouble at all. I am not sure of the price, but it is a great boat and engine package. I've been in touch with a couple of parts guys like Doug Russel and they seem to have all the parts, including new and rebuilt drives available. They said that they made a ton of these engines so getting parts isn't an issue, it just might take a little shopping around. I would see what a comparable boat with the Volvo engine package would cost and see if it is worth the difference.

Here is what i know. Paid $6500 for my 2000 horizon 230LT with 5.7GSI fuel injected 280hp VP DP in June of 08. Now my boat also had blistering on the bottom that i just paid about $6500 to repair. Boat has 250 hrs. The dealer said he would give me $14,000 today or $17,000 on trade. Something is only worth what someone is willing to pay!!! As far as the 93' to me only about $4500 to $6000 But that's me. DREW

Thanks for the info guys, I will have to talk price with the guy. In our area there is not much to be had for a boat that size and power setup in similar condition. Engine has tested out good and the overall condition is far better than a lot of boats I have looked at much newer. But its a used boat so you just never know what your gonna get, its all about how they are maintained!

My concern was the OMC setup and am well aware of the OMC potential problems, however I have talked to the shop that has maintained the boat and they are still working on this setup without any issues. So hopefully that will not be a major problem getting work done. (until that guy or that shop closes down!!) lol

Ill try to negotiate and see if I can get it at a fair price.

Thanks again,

If it was me & I had that much money to spend I'd keep looking for something newer & without the OMC drive.
