I am thinking of buying a 2009 H183 because my wife wants a sport boat and I want a fishing boat. It seems like a good compromise and has lots of features for the fisherman. :D I recently sold my 2000 Maxum 2100 and I'm looking for a smaller boat with a V6 engine. I plan to use it on the lakes of Northwest Montana. Anyone have any experience with this model? Good, bad or indifferent?

Not exactly , as I understand my H180 has the same hull as the H183 and seems to do all the right things. The only quirk it seems to have is they don't track particularly well at low speeds ( at idle it feels a bit wandery) but apart from that love it, great boat.

I fish off my H180 but I suppose that doesn't make it a H183 now does it? The boat itself is great. Wide beam for a 18ft boat. Lots of floor space for such a small boat.

Switching to a 4 blade prop solved this for me. I give up a little top end for better hole shot and slower planing.

V6 should be fine, I don't have any complaints.
