Is there anybody out there with a 240 or 260 (SL owners may have close to the same set up too)with the factory transom speakers, that could look to see where the wiring harness attaches? I ordered the doors and the wiring harness. It should be a quick install if I can find the attachment for the harness. This is temporary until I find the time to install my amp. I was hoping to have them ready for the weekend.

As an alternate question I found an empty plug that would fit the wiring harness any way to test that with a volt meter to see if it is speaker wire?

Thanks in advance.

Testing speaker wire - one of the oldest tricks in the book is to connect the speakers to the wire, then at the other end (near amp or head unit) connect the two 'alleged' speaker wires to a small 9v "smoke alarm" battery. If you have the correct wires, the speaker wiill emit a harmless tone. Don't forget to take a look at the wiring schematics in the back of your oowners manual - FW is pretty good at keeping to the published color scheme with their harnesses. HTH.

Jim,

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately Four Winns has not kept up with their owners manual. And my wiring diagram does not include the transom speakers. In fact it has the wiring for the Clarion System.( I have a Sony) I need to find a way to test wires in the engine compartment already hooked to power(presumably), to see if they are for speakers or not, without actually attaching the speaker.
