Anyone recommend where the depth gauge is so I can clean this on a 2000 Horizon 180 with a volvo SX outdive.

Post on the site say clean it with brake fluid but I don't know what to look for.

Unit reads from actual depth of 25 feet to 0.7, 1.0 etc and sounds the alarm.

Thanks.

You should see a black circle (approx 2-3" dia) on the bottom of your hull. It will be flush with the surface and is more than likely on the lowest point of your hull. Get on your back and crawl around you should see it quite easily....unless it's covered by one of your bunks!

It is easy to find. For the record, my depth guage was only working about half the time, I cleaned the area with brake cleaner, not brake fluid. I'm sure any good solvent would clean that "window". That did totally solve it for me.

I had this happen on mine, and cleaned it while the boat was in the water with a washcloth - no solvents whatsoever. That was two seasons ago, and no problems since.
