I would appreciate any feedback from your guys experts on FW.

I am to take delivery of a new H260 In solid Pastel blue color with a navy accent stripe, its fully loaded with all original FW options apart from any tower which I would not have ordered intentionally by all means. Confirmed that it will be a 2010 model.

My question is on the engine .. since it was specially ordered with a Mercruiser 496 HO (425HP) SEACORE , Bravo III DTS.

Firstly , will I really feel a noticeable difference between the 375HP & the 425 HP on the overall performance of the boat ?

Secondly, What do you guys think of the SEACORE engines , are they really what they say they are ? I admit that 80% of usage will be in a salty water environment ...

Thirdly, any special advice or recommendations ....your thoughts and remarks are welcomed.

Thanks for any input I would be getting....

Congrats on your purchase/delivery! Its great to see another 260 owner on the boards here...
I don't know much about the Seacore technology so I will leave that to someone else. They do say get the most HP in the boat you can as you will never regret it. But If you had gotten the 375 you probably would have been ok and not missed the additional 50 ponies. But the 425 will give you a tad bit more "snap" on the throttle and responsiveness. This may help in overall comfort in using the boat.

BTW, my 260 is a first for me with Volvo all my previous experience has been with Merc and I was very pleased with the quality and ease of service of Mercs.

Please post pictures as soona s you have them....

Welcome aboard!
H260 is not as large and heavy boat as the most people might think and having 496MAG or VP 8.1 would give us rocket out of the hole shot and acceleration in any speed range. MAG and HO has similar max torque but HO published 50HP more so I believe difference will be obvious in top speed and top end performance.... HO provides about 300 more maximum RPM and will be able to use different prop than Standard MAG. Standard 496MAG or VP8.1Gi would top out around 56 to 58 MPH but it should easily achieve 62 or 63 MPH with HO…… You said you ordered all option so I hope you got a smart tow for it. As I review my current boat if we get a next boat it will be a Merc because we can get a Merc engine with smart tow….
I originally did not want an arch but after looking at number of H240 and H260 with forward lean SS Arch and I ended up ordering it this year…. It will be installed next week :D .. Four Winns has very nice trailering cover for H260 starting this year and I would highly recommend it if you did not get it. If you want modify your boat other than stereos, installation of interior color LED lights and Remote Transom Tilt switch are popular project.
We are looking forward to see your new boat!

Thanks for the valuable information Flying Sushi the duo Props installed are of following type PROP,14 X 26 BRAVO3 RH #48-823668A60 &
PROP,15 1/4 X 26 BRAVO3 LH #48-823667A60 .

Smart tow already ordered , same as Stereo upgrade & the remote transom tilt switch , Florentine cockpit color with matching flooring carpet , trim tabs..........etc.... apparently I was in a very good mood while placing the order

I ordered a custom made cover In WeatherMax material which says that it is suitable for all purpose so I assume it would be fit for trailering as well....

Any feed back on the Seacore technology ???

Thanks again...
