Earlier this season I had water coming from under the helm while running the boat at high speed. I had my wet life vest on the floor in front of me to keep it from blowing away I had assumed that maybe it had come from that. It happened again later on and I was sure it wasn't from my vest this time. After stopping the boat I could find nothing wet under the helm there is no place for water to collect under the helm and my boat is stored inside. It happened again today I looked could find nothing.

Finally while driving home I think I figured it out. Since it typically only happens at high speed I think it may be coming from the speedometer tube. What do you guys think? Unfortunately since it typically occurs at high speed I can't really get under there and look while it happens. Any suggestions on common places for this to leak? Or how to test my theory?

Definitely speedo tube. Probably have a pinhole.

Does your speedometer work? Is it full of water? :D

Sounds like a plausable theory. If your pitot tube is still attached to the back of the speedo gauge, how about disconnecting it and plugging it to see if you still get the water coming down.

This happened to me when I was test driving my boat. Anytime I got above about 2500 rpms with some speed it would blow water at my feet. Loose tube in my case. They forgot to put a zip tie on the fitting at the factory I guess.

I'm willing to bet loose speedo tube. Pull your dash or speedo out and make sure the tube is pressed on all the way. Hopefully its not a pin hole in the tube...that'll be a pain to replace.

We'll be out at Brookville Sat afternoon and Sunday, I'll be glad to help get down and trace it while your at speed if you need the help!

I get the same thing and thought it was a non-fixable speedo issue but I haven't tried locating and pushing the tube on tighter. Will see if I can.

Fire I doubt we'll make to Brookville this weekend its tournament time for baseball.

Brent I'll try that too but I don't want the boat to go slower.....
