Good afternoon, I just purchased this boat last night.. Looks like a great boat it runs was in the water in 08. Just a few little things that I need to repair but nothing major I hope... For the $600 boat/traylor investment have to give it a go. Does anyone know many specs about this boat, I know it has the 4cyl mercruiser engine I think the 4.3L. I'm as well looking for a few part that I can't find anywere on the net. Probably because I'm not naming it right during the searches. It is the back cover that goes from the back around the engine cover and then the seats that go on the sides of this. I have the original but it looks ruined. Thanks and look forward to meeting you all... Jim |

Congratulations on your FW purchase!!! a 4 cyc isn't a 4.3L, that's a V6, You either have a 3.0L 4cyc or the 4.3L V6 as far as the cover you're inquiring about I'm not sure what you're looking for. But anyways again congrats on YOUR New FW!!! |

Congrats on the 'new' boat! I had the same 86' H190 in blue. Sold it last year to a guy at work. It's a great boat. You probably have the 3L 4 cyc merc engine which is a good engine. Should be enough power for skiing/tubing and get about as good gas mileage as you can get on a boat. I think you're looking for the engine hatch cover. You will either have to find someone parting out a boat or just make one out of treated plywood yourself. It's literally just 3 sides of plywood, a couple of hinges, and some vinyl upholstry. Note that there would be 2 wood rails on each side for the rear seats which can be down for a seat or up to make a sunpad. Check out the http://www.fourwinns.net site for some info. The 87 models are very similar too. There are plenty of knowledgeable people on here that can help you out with questions. Enjoy your new boat! http://www.fourwinns.net/brochure/1986/runabout/p4h190.pdf http://www.fourwinns.net/brochure/1986/runabout/p5h190.pdf http://www.fourwinns.net/brochure/1986/runabout/p15rfo.pdf |

Thanks for the info! I guess I'll have to take a better look because the engine says 4.3l but the guy I got if from says a 4cyl.. I will just have to count plugs... My friend came over last night to check it out and I think I'm going to do as he says.. Before I dump more money into it just drop it in the water for a few mins to make sure everything is sound and then I can go ahead and do my touch-ups on it.. Starting with anything the motor might need for a tune up and I got to figure out the battery charging issue. Apparently the system that comes with the motor to recharge the batteries may not work and he has a new alternator and I have to get this conversion kit to add the alternator to it because it is a cheaper fix than the stock problem. Does anyone know exactly which engine the 3.0L and the 4.3L corespond to, in the chevy vehicle line? So instead of going oem I can hit the auto parts store and purchase parts.. Thanks a million, Jim |

I'm new here to the forums but it could possibly be the 3.7 litre 4 cyl. does it say 470 or 3.7 on the valve cover, if it is the 3.7 litre it is a ford motor, actually half of a 460 ford. This is the motor that is in my 190. Great motor but it has its fair share of problems. just my 2 cents.. ![]() |

Good morning, Took a better look this weekend trying to clean it up to get it in the water asap.. The engine does say 3.7L and its a 4 cyl. Beings you say it is a ford motor do you know off of which vehicle? I want to replace all the plugs, wires, distr cap, rotor. The only problem I found so far is that the engine won't turn over with the keys, you can hear the power getting to the engine but won't crank it. If I use a screw driver on the siloniod on the starter it fires right up. I'm going to check the simple things first and clean all the connections. Anyone think the know exactly what this is? |
