I just replaced the speakers front speakers underneath the consoles on either side, but now I need to find some speakers that will fit behind the grilles that are built in on the side on either side of the bench seat in my 2001 190 Horizon. I had attempted to install the same sonys that I installed up front, but did not realize that the grilles were not removable, so those did not work. I would preferably like a speaker that will mount in the same holes as the factory Sony MP61 speakers. If anyone has replaced these speakers, let me know what you found worked. Below is a picture of the speakers that are currently installed.

Where are your rear speakers located? My 180 only has them under the consoles and I would like to add 2 to the bow area and 2 by the rear seats. Do you have any pictures? Thanks

I went with Memphis Audio's marine line that replaced the factory Sony 6.5 satellites without cutting. I am extrememly satisfied with them.

Did you add any extra speakers? I have two but the bow could really use a pair.

I did.

The H240 come with 4 ea. 6.5 Sonys.

I added 2 ea. of the 8" Memphis Audio to the cockpit. I can't tell you how pleased i am that I upgrade to these. I did however add an amp and sub box as well for more sound. If that is not in your future plans, I think the speaker upgrade would suffice.

Alot of people here love the JL Audio, Polk db's, etc. All I can say is I have heard them all and I went with what sounded the best to me and that was Memphis Audio. It was also cheaper than the JL Audio and priced near the Polks. At the time, price really wasn't an issue to me...sound, appearance, and cutting held a higher importance to me.

At this point, I have a few other items ahead of changing the audio. I want to start with adding speakers to the existing Sony CDX L510X so those in the bow can hear it without blowing those sitting at the helm and stern out.

I will change it out eventually, but I like you am more concerned with fit finish and I want it to look like it was that way when it came from the dealer.
