Just a click when trying to move the trim up or down....fluid was at the right level.....it worked again after I attempted to push the connector back together on the two wires going to the unit (ours is accessible via the port storage locker at the stern). The connector didn't budge (it wasn't loose) but perhaps there was just enough moisture or corrosion in there to cause an issue.

...the guage has been shot all season though.....anyone else had issues with the trim motor and it's guage?

I'd be inclined to go back and apply some dielectric grease to the pins in that connector.

I had an issue with my trim last year, it wouldn't go up or down - added some fluid, vigourously 'tapped' on the pump housing and it worked ok. Ended up taking it in under warranty but they didn't find anything.

I have a similar issue with mine. Every once and a while it will trim up, but not down. To fix the issue, I always pull both relays and pop them back in. The relays are the two little black box looking things (about one inch square) on the side of the trim motor where the wires are connected (that is if your trim motor is like mine). They pop in and out like a plug in an electrical socket. With mine, the relays just get loose or the connections get a little dirty. If it continues to happen, I would replace the relays. I bought some backup relays from AutoZone that work and were pretty inexpensive. I keep them on the boat in case my normal routine fails.

Blessed,
Thanks! Gotta love when Lake Michigan is like glass. It lets the 180s like me get out to the boaters only beach with the big guys.
