Well, you all may think I'm crazy but I decided to buy the 03 H210 discussed in my previous thread. After talking to the owner some more and the mec that did the work, I feel the boat just needs alittle tlc. They dropped the price some more and it's really too good to pass up now. We're taking another test drive tomorrow and it will be in the driveway tomorrow night. The engine is a VP 5.0 gxi/sx and I need to get a good service manual for it. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I'm new to boats but no stranger to working on motors. Any advice appreciated.

My advice would be to get the official VP manuals; the aftermarket ones cover too many models and sometimes have not been updated ( the one I bought claimed it covered up to 2000, but things I found on my 1999 drive and engine were not indicated in that manual. The official VP manual for the 1999 model year clearly showed the actual configuration.

That's what I'm after, real Volvo Penta manuals. I did a search but found Clymer and Seloc or something like that. Anyone know a good place to buy them or even download for free? I'd rather have the books though.

Your local VP dealer should be able to get them for you. As you are based in the US, there is a VP DIY/ parts website you can access, you may well be able to order them from there. ( Being in Europe, I am not allowed access because the VP prices in the US are a lot lower than here and they try to protect theeir price structure here !)

Good luck with 210 - I bought the same boat earlier this year and have had absolutuely zero problems with it. The only thing that took a little getting used to was the low speed wandering. But I soon learned quickly to kind of point the boat at some point inthe distance and it seemed manageable. Aside from that the boat has been nothing short of perfect. Good Luck!

If you put on some smart tabs you can eliminate the low speed wander & get on plane faster while at the same time allowing you to stay on plane at lower speed.

Picked up volvo manuals for my boat on ebay for $12 each for drive & motor. Used copies but in good condition. Worth looking at.

Thanks captkevin. I wont steal the thread but this may useful to others. I've found that my boat is very sensitvie to trim angles and I have been slowly improving the performance/handling by very small adjustments with the trim. Thanks again.
