I have a 2000 23' Horizion that we just picked up this year. It seams to pitch really hard both ways. I was just wondering if anyone else had this problem? This is not my first boat, but is my first four winns |

Sounds like we have the same boat. Can you define what you mean by pitching? Is this at rest or while up on plane? |

When taking off, it pitches really hard to either side or when a wave comes across the same thing happens |

If you are in calm water and you take off the boat pitches from side to side?? That is not normal. If at rest or idol and waves come by, any boat will pitch some. |

yes, if you are just taking off the boat pitches alot. it doesnt sway side to side but leans hard to one side. i just didn't know if this was a normal thing with the four winns or if someone else had this problem as well. it does have a 2 foot swim platform on it, i wasnt sure if this was doing it. |

Hmm .... could it be that more weight is on one side of the boat? Does the boat have trim tabs? |

Same engine drive that I have. Sometimes mine will lean during takeoff if I have extra weight on one side or if it a really windy. Boat loves to lean into the wind. |

the weight is evenly distrubuted. and it happens if its windy or not. but it is a severe pitch. the boat has trim tabs which seem to be operating properly |

Something is wrong with this picture, or the explanation of the issue. I have never heard of such a thing on this model, or any stable-vee FW for that matter. I think you will not find anyone has had the issue you describe. There seems to be a loss in translation. You say this is not your first boat, what boats have you owned, a pontoon possibly? |

sounds like a trim tab issue -- I have a 240 -- with the 5.7L duoprop - and cannot say I notice any of that -- and I have boated for 25plus years. |

Our boat is much smaller, but we have experienced something like that if the outdrive is trimmed all way down (bow down attitude). Don't know if you we are experiencing the same thing: While moving the boat may pitch in one direction, and stay like that for a few moments. I have learned that it is because the forward end of the boat too deep in the water. Usually happens in rough water areas. Just trim up a bit (bow up). Hope this helps. |

I too experience this as more noticable in my Four Winns vs my previous Sea Ray. Turns out I have a trim tab that is much slower than the other one so I have to make sure they are both "bow up" before leaving the dock. But, I do like the outdrive trim idea as well and will try that next time. |
