I have been confused for some time about the amount of water that has been building up in my hull and activating the bilge pump. I had checked every topic looking for the answer . Last weeked i stumbled on the prblem and thought i would share as i can see this happening to potentially any SS owner . The winch attachement cleat and scuff plate at the front is glued to the hull with some sought of epoxy and during a shallow winching event the weight on the lug has dislodged the epoxy .There was only a very small gap , but when you are stopping and starting all day long , the water pushes up through the gap filling your hull .I sealed around the cleat with some clear marine sealant and now it is as good as new and no water in the bilge. :D

I was starting to think i cracked the hull somehow .

I hope this helps someone .
