Well we're home, fed and ready to relax. Had a great maiden voyage, no reported problems. One of the fenders wasn't doing its job so got a bit of a dock scar but should come off easy enough.

Towing with the Jeep Liberty did find, wouldn't want to take it on a major highway trip but for in town use it will do ok until I find a truck. Longer trips I'll be happy towing with the Winnebago.

Launch went great, no problems backing down. Just a tad nervous not knowing how fast it got deep. Pretty shallow but deep enough to launch.

Towed the boys and oldests' GF around in the afternoon, used a single tube and a triple tube and had a blast. Great thing about the Columbia River around here is you can go and go and go for ever it seems.

Finally we decided it was time to head in, docked the boat and got the trailer. Some yahoo (now I know why all the posts about dock etiquette) backs down to launch right where our boat is. Of course there are 3 other bays wide open. I waited for a few and finally gave up and parked in another bay and moved my boat, I was loaded and ready to pull out by the time they launched. Grrr.

Time to go toy shopping, want to find a decent 3 person tube and a second single tube. Looking at Costco.

The boat itself did a great job, had a chance to put it through all the paces, never got WOT as there was just a bit to much wake to feel comfortable, but I did hit 45 on the GPS at one point.

Heading out in the morning to practice launching/retrieving and learning to read the river a bit more without the kids.

Sounds like fun. Do you have a picture of your GPS and where it is mounted? My next project, but I just cannot find a decent location. Unfortunately, I do not have that cup holder on the right of the helm.

The Admiral picked up a tube at Dick's sporting goods on sale. Guess they are dumping the summer gear.

Wish we had a Dicks around here, when GI Joes was alive they were great. Sports Authority doesn't have the stock.

As for the GPS, I don't have the boat mount yet. I have one for my ATV, what I'm going to get is a cup holder mount though. Best place I've found was http://www.mountguys.com/ great prices, shipping and they usually have various 10% discounts. If you order from them let me know I think I have a code for 10% off in my email.

My helm only has a cup holder down near my feet. So many (I think the 19's all have them) have a cup holder on the right of the helm and instrumentation which makes a perfect spot for the 4 or 5 inch GPS units.

I want mine mounted, but have yet to find the perfect location.

They have some pretty good suction cup mounts, and what they call a marine mount which I assume requires some drilling or epoxy to mount.

I was really impressed with the RAM mount on my ATV, was able to get it very tight and no bounce or wobble while riding (other then me).

If the cup holder mount doesn't cut it, I'll go with a suction cup mount that I can put on the side window, then angle straight back so I don't restrict any of my forward view.
