Well, after a summer that only saw two brief weekends and a lot of awful weather, Oh, and a firstborn child, I did manage to pull enough strings to make a small modification to the boat.

I'll definitely be using it more next year. And now I've got a crew!

It's a Roswell Area 51. I picked it up as a floor model for $1500. It did take my father and I about 8-10 hours to do the install though. We could have rushed it a little faster, however there's just so much work in the details. Besides, it's not really a race anyways when it's raining all day.

A few tips for a new tower ower. NEVER pull a tube by the tower, NEVER climb ontop of the tower, it is not reinforced to with stand weight from the top of the hull.

I notice that you have an extended swim platform. Did that come from the factory or did you add that on yourself?

What are you going to do for a bimini?

Great looking tower indeed, well done on the install too 8)

I have the same extended swim platform and it is superb for boarding tubing etc with riders getting back into the boat etc.

I never used my tower for tubing but only because it seemed not right being pulled from above. The stock tow eye is much better for single skiing and tubing because the rope is on a level angle.

We ended up having to put a bimini on just for some shade, there are some good options around but as per more cash required.

Nice looking setup!

Pulling a tube from tower is never a good idea, A tube generates substantial more pull than a wakeboarder and tube loads with water when capsized creating a too much drag for tower or it`s attachment to handle
Due to the leverage affect the higher the tower get the more stress would goes on to the mounting point as well.

not condoning it or saying it's right or wrong to tow a tube from the tower. but this was us last year playing "tube wars". took forever to plane out and some will say it's wrong or I'm an idiot for doing so but we had a blast. haven't done it since (3 tubes from the tower). it defiantly puts strain on the tower and mounting points. i for one when riding the tube by myselft don't hesitate to hook it up to the tower. and with the kids i usually do the same. i like it up there better for the kids (specially younger ones) cuase it seems to keep the tube from wanting to dig into the water.

Me too tempting to pull tube from tower but .........
I use FW pylon for tubing and it has compromised height and does not come with a warning sign says “Do not pull towables ”

Guys, I know better than to tube from the tower.

I have the factory bimini. I believe it will still function with the tower in place. That was the idea all along. I haven't fitted it yet to be sure, but if it doesnt' fit it's going to be close. Close enough that I'll just make some modifications. Turns out a buddy I went to college with got into the marine canvas business, so, I have a guy at least.

I'll have to wait until this summer to update some photo's. At least now I have support structure for tarping up the boat during the winter now.
