Post subject:  inactive Corrosion Protection System

Is anyone familiar with torubleshooting the Active Corrosion Protection System. I have two units with indicator lights that do not come on when the boat is plugged in to shore power or when the engines are started. They do come on for a second when the ignition switch is turned on to start the starboard engine. After that they do not stayon. I reviewed the owners manual and will check for a blown fuse but that makes no sense since the green indicator lights come on for that one second.
The boat is an 2008 H310 with Volvo 320HP engines.

Thanks,
Doug

The wiring is on these units very simple, with only 4 wires: they are not part of the standard wiring loom.

+ve supply, should be always connected to the battery ( via a fuse)
Ground; always connected
Sensor anode
Active anode

There is nothing serviceable apart from the fuse; the electronics are enclosed in a cast potting compound.

It does sound like a bad connection somewhere;; do both units share a common ground? Mine is grounded to a stud at the back of the engine, there was quite a bit of corrosion there, which didn't affect the corrosion protection unit, but caused other problems. Originally, the +ve was connected to one battery terminal directly, I moved it to the back of the battery selector switch ( to the same stud on the diode pack that the bilge pump is attached to) so there was no chance of it being forgotten when my batteries are reconnected ( also, this way, both batteries are connected to it rather than just the one).
