just bought a nice 96 240 with volvo engine and outdrive but as i am looking at the engine i am finding Ford and OMC parts on the engine? My distributor has a Ford company rubber overlay and the engine has OMC parts all over the place. My question is is this normal for Volvo to be using all these american parts and still call itself Volvo? anyone else have this and is it normal? |

Normal...Volvo was in a joint venture with OMC for about 4 years and they both used Ford engines and Chevy engines in certain applications...all modern Volvo gas sterndrives use American engines...the only ones that currently use Volvo engines are the diesels...the last pure gas Volvo engines with sterndrives were the 4 cylinders with the Aquatic drive....years ago..... |
