Greetings All. Some of you may remember me, as I was a Four Winns owner for 14 years before buying my current boat, a Mainship 34Trawler. My last Four Winns was a 268Vista named, Andiamo! A good friend of mine is looking to buy the following boat that he saw For Sale. I did not notice this boat on the For Sale Section of this site. Can anyone with this model and motor combo tell me your expereinces with this boat? I would appreciate any info, good or bad that you may be able to share. Thank You, Jim. 2002 Four Winns 190 Horizon bowrider. 220hp 5.0L Volvo Penta Inboard/Outboard |

Welcome back Jim. Glad you did not completely forget about this site. It appears there are not too many owners of a 190H of that year and similarly equipped. That's too bad, you would think a FW message board would be the most likely place to find an owner. There is a 1995 in our area with same engine for under 9K I have looked at. I liked what I saw, and with that motor, it should be more than adequate for watersports and spirited cruising. Take Care, and good luck to your friend in his quest. |

Cap'n Morgan, Great to hear from you. Thanks for the reply! I thought that engine would work fine for that boat also. How's that 268Vista treating you? I still miss my 268Vista, especially when I am in a hurry, and I am only cruising at 12knots in my trawler! LOL! ![]() It should be an ineresting season with all those flying Carp! Do you expect them to be a problem where you are? Take care, and Thanks again for your reply! Cheers, Jim. |

Our 268 has been a great boat for us. We have been getting alot of use out of it for the 6 months per year we are in the water. I don't think the flying carp will be an issue for us this far north, at least I hope not. Have a great season, and stop in here and visit every once in awhile. |

I have a 2001 190 Horizon with the 5.0 GL Volvo Penta, and have to say that it is definitely a great boat. For a now 9 year old boat, it has never had any really had any issues, and I really think that the overall fit and finish of the boat is top notch. I'm pretty sure that the 2002 is still the same as the 2001, I think they changed them when they stopped offering the V8 in the 190. Also, for a boat of its size, it is very stable in chop, and has plenty of power for almost any situations. I have been running 19 pitch aluminum and stainless props and it will do about 47 on GPS, and has tons of torque with those props, with a 21 pitch I would assume it would get above 50. Overall, I think that this is a great boat, and the fact that the beam is a little wider than most models in this range is so nice, as the boat has tons of room inside. Let me know if you have any other questions, I would be glad to answer them. |

This particular 19'6'' x 8'5'' hull with the 42gal. tank has seen many incarnations and has been a real workhorse for Fourwinns. It started its life in 2001 in the H190, then became the H200 in 2003, the H200LE in 2005, and finally resurfaced as the H203 in a fish and ski version in 2006 until it was dropped from the lineup for model year 2010. As such this hull has always been available with the V8, simply under different model names and trim packages. |

I'm a little late with this, but that's the same boat/engine/year I have. I think it's actually 18'6", but we have the extended platform and love it. We bought the boat new, and the only thing semi-major I had to replace was a fuel pump. My mechanic thought it might have been due to not enough air circulation and the heat killed it. Don't know for sure but we run the blower all the time now and everything's been fine. There really isn't anything we don't like about it. It rides great, It runs good, It's not bad on gas. With a 21" 3-blade aluminum prop we were getting about 51-52 mph. I have a 4-blade aluminum 19" on now and get about 47-48 mph. This model year was really put together well. I've seen the newer 190's and they look like they shrunk them. He won't be disappointed. |
