Undo hose clamps and remove the inlet and outlet hoses (making a record of where each one came off).
Remove the black retaining bracket; 2 bolts. Do not lose the rubber part on the end of it.
Undo the 4 small screws holding the pump to the backplate.
Pull off the housing, the old impeller usually stays in it, the backplate stays on the end of the crank pulley.
After making a note of which way the vanes are bent, remove old impeller.
Lubricate the new impeller and inside of the pump body with glycerine ( in the VP kit).
Fit new impeller into housing, with the vanes bent in the same way as the old ones were.
Remove the large "O" ring from the backplate.
Fit new "O" ring.
Put pump body/ impeller back on driveshaft/ backplate and rotate the backplate or the pump body so all 4 holes line up.
Reassemble in the reverse order to disassembly. You might consider changing th 4 brass screws to stainless steel cap head (Allen head ) ones. ( I used M5 ones, which are so similar to the American thread to make no difference), a lot less fiddly to fit, but make sure they are not too long.
