What's the consensus on hydrofoils? I have a Horizon 180 w/ 3.0. I keep hearing to stay away because they put so much pressure on the outdrive. |

LOL, I haven't seen the bluetooth picture in a while! I like foils on my 14' aluminium utility boat with the 8 hp on it. It actually makes a difference on how quickly the boat planes and the speed at which it stays on plane. On your H180, I don't think you will find much difference. What kind of problem are you trying to solve? We might have some other suggestions for you.... |

Dont bother, if you find it digs in a bit on take off then move someone to the front from the rear seats. Otherwise I think they perform just fine. I find once up and planing you need to trim out quite a bit anyway so a hydrofoil will only make this worse once on the plane Hope this helps ![]() |

Pair of smart tabs might be a good alternate. Lots of people have been very happy with them to give improved planing time. |
