What's the consensus on hydrofoils? I have a Horizon 180 w/ 3.0.

I keep hearing to stay away because they put so much pressure on the outdrive.

LOL, I haven't seen the bluetooth picture in a while!

I like foils on my 14' aluminium utility boat with the 8 hp on it. It actually makes a difference on how quickly the boat planes and the speed at which it stays on plane. On your H180, I don't think you will find much difference.

What kind of problem are you trying to solve? We might have some other suggestions for you....

Dont bother, if you find it digs in a bit on take off then move someone to the front from the rear seats. Otherwise I think they perform just fine. I find once up and planing you need to trim out quite a bit anyway so a hydrofoil will only make this worse once on the plane

Pair of smart tabs might be a good alternate. Lots of people have been very happy with them to give improved planing time.
