Post subject: | Advice on buying a used 220 Horizon |
Thank goodness I found this forum! Lots of good info here. I am getting ready to sell my '93 Bayliner Cobra Fish&Ski because I found that I do more skiing than fishing! After looking around the web for a while I really like the 22 foot Horizon. What should I look for in buying a boat? I have about $20,000 to work with. I would like to seat about 6 comfortably and still be able to ski and tube. I like all the "extras" such as coolers, potty, transom shower and so on. I really like the "L" seating and the walk through door to the transom. What year was that introduced? I am also open to suggestions for other boat types and I'm sure I'll get several different answers! A deck boat makes sense, and I like the fishing package such as seats on the bow. I'll need the trailer, and the boat will be stored outdoors in Southwest Virginia. Anyhow, ANY and ALL types of advice are appreciated! Thanks! jfire |

Jfire, One thing to be careful about is to check the year and length. I own a 2002 220. Actual lenght is 21'6". In 2001 it was a 210, in 2002 it was a 220, and I believe in 2003 it flipped back to 210. So, depending on the year, you might not be getting the boat you thought you were getting. My 2002 220 does have the walk-thu transom, one of the features that caused us to select the boat. n The 210 that year did not. Good luck. |
