I just ordered a new Garmin GPSMAP 541s Chartplotter (14,000 Inland Lakes) with a G3 Vision SD Card and an in-hull transducer. Whats your opinion? Anybody have this model? Any special tricks to attaching the transducer? I do a lot of boating on Lake Superior but the BIG lake only came with the Coastal Lakes version and not the Inland Lakes. But all the Inland Lakes that I use are included. Would appreciate any input. Thanks in advance.

Like to see where you mount it. Post pics!. I think you might have a cup holder in the Helm that mine does not have.

That 541 is a beautiful unit! I came close to buying a 421 for this new boat, but I had just bought a GPSmap 76Cx last year with my local bluechart so I passed it up for just a Fishfinder 90 to give me depth and temp. Sorry, no info on mounting the thru hull transducer (mine is transom mount), but here is a pic of where I mounted my Fishfinder 90 in my new H180.

And while I'm at it, here is the Richie compass that I mounted in the factory depth finder location. Just an idea for you, or anybody else with an H180.

Very nice! Compass looks factory mounted! Damn why didn't they put a cupholder up high on the older 180's!
