My boat is a 97 Horizon 180 w/ 4.3 Volvo Penta engine. I purchased a K&N Air Filter / Flame Arrestor for it. I have installed the new filter / flame arrestor however it is a slightly larger diameter then the oem flame arrestor. Now I have run into a problem that I can't figure out. I am unable to attach the vent hoses to the filter. The hoses have ends on them which attached to the post on the old flame arrestor, they will not attach this way to the new one. Has anyone else installed a K&N filter, and if so how did you mount the vent hoses? Or does anyone know where to buy a slightly longer end to mount it with. Another 1" or 1.5" would be long enough to attach it to the old location.
