What size anchor does the 200 horizons use, went to Lake Ouachita in Arkansas and anchored for most of the day, the EBS came on the radio and said a big storm was coming so we all got out of the water and got ready to head in, tried to pull up the anchor it was a no go, tried circling around it pulling from different angles, she was stuck like Chuck and with the storm coming i tossed the line, watched it sink and hauled ass to the marina.

Smart move, the anchor is not worth it. I use a danforth style anchor that has held well in all types of conditions. It's a little bulkier than Mike's, but it fits in my anchor locker. I also use 6' of chain.

I would have tied off the worst fender/float/life jacket on hand to the anchor line and come back for it later. I don't recall the anchor size I have, I can check next weekend - it looks suspiciously like a Seafit SF8. Otherwise you might try calling your dealer to see what they provide that fits in the anchor compartment.

I can say that I have 6-8' of chain on the anchor, 150' of anchor line and I have a an old pulley style window couterweight (maybe 10 pounds) that I clip on where the chain connects to the rope portion of the rode. Been awhile since I have had to try to set it more than once, but I'm mostly anchoring in soft bottom mud & sand.

In our area we have a lot of mud at the bottom... If you get a *big* >18lb mushroom anchor it can hold a 20 footer well... they are heavy to pull up tho...
