Post subject:  H183: Downriggers/Planer Mast

Greetings:

Last week I purchased my first boat, a 2008 H183. I've been scouring the forums here, as well as the internet, for suggestions on mounting a planer board mast and a couple of downriggers.

I figured the best choice would be to add a removable board. This way I could attach it if I were going fishing and remove for other trips.

Has anyone else mounted a downrigger board to their fish & ski?

Thanks!

Wow, that's a different boat for trolling, but I have seen smaller ones do it.

All I have seen on a BR style boat, is a couple of flush mount rod holders mounted in the
gunwales, and the board inserted into the holders via aluminum or PVC poles. Of course
the downriggers mounted to the board, and remove when not in use. You can get plugs for the
rod holders so they don't fill/drain when it rains also.

I'd like to see pics with what you come up with.
