Alright
So I have a 1998 fourwinns horizon 180...at least I believe it is..the person who sold it to me sold it as a 185 but the boat measures 18' 3" tip to tip with a 9'10" beam. It has no labelling on it besides fourwinns and horizon. I believe it is the RS model because these are the I/O right?
Anyways I bought it last summer it has been great..I guess I got lucky after hearing all the horror stories about newbies buying boats without even water testing!! haha. never again... anyways my VDO gauge cluster is failing and i have heard this is quite common. I have bought all new teleflex gauges but figuring out the wiring for this is quite difficult so I was just wondering if anyone has a wiring diagram. The motor is a 5.7 volvo penta GLI...o and can anyone answer why there is NO info on this motor around the internet??
O and does anyone else have this boat? it seems like I should be able to do over 50 but at 2000ft I have a hard time doing 48mph. This could just be the prop but even with my 21" on with 4 ppl in the boat i can just barely hit 4800-4900rpm which is only 44mph so I know i can't really get much more out of it.

If you have the sunsport seating with the VDO cluster, it's likely the RS, the RX (which I have) has the standard seating with individual gauges. Both were available with I/O

Also, the beam should be 8'. 9'10" is quite wide for an 18' boat

The 5.7 is a very large motor for that ride. I can run about 47mph with the 4.3, however I am nowhere near 2000 ft elevation.

Here are the specs for the RS: http://assets2.fourwinnsmarketing.com/past_product/specs//1998/04%20Horizon%20RS%20(p10-13).pdf

You can also find the owner's manuals at

well according to both of these sites my boat doesn't exist... seems weird i'm starting to wonder if the 5.7 is aftermarket.. :?
the other thing is that i have the regular seating with the VDO cluster
