The latch broke on my drivers side storage bay. Looking on the parts web site I see the door itself but no indication of the latch part #. Here is a picture. I just need the round Latch assembly. I assume this is a latch they sourced from somewhere... Any ideas?

I think I've seen stuff like that at West Marine. I'd bet it's standard issue.

Hmmm I think these are the ones. I might get 2 metal ones to replace the plastic...

Sigh

My boat is 98 miles away and i did not measure!!! I know I have found the correct latch but there are 4 sizes. Can anyone who happens to go on their boat any time soon (of my boats vintage) measure the hole size for the latch?

http://www.southco.com/class/m1-flush-p ... ml?ctid=85

Thanks in advance!!!

OK so I was able to remove the latch over the weekend. Definitely off the shelf part and made by Southco (see link above). I think I am going to replace the 4 black ones (same latch is used on the anchor locker, 2 storage bay doors and the "lid" over the portable head) with the stainless steal ones. Hopefully prevent another breakage... I think it will look nice as well since all of the hinges are stainless. Worthy upgrade I hope 8)

Nice post. That fills in some blanks as to where some of my latches came from.

Yes I like it a lot! I noticed over the weekend that the locking latch on the glove compartment is also the same cheap black plastic so I am going to see if I can replace that one as well...

They look real nice , good job on the installs. Same latches that came on our new boat. It's nice to be able to lock them when you are away, or in storage.

Where did you pick these up at, and how much? Best I have seen is $32 for non locking at fpmarine.com

I went on Ebay. The seller is Teak Isle, Inc.

I paid 29.75 each. They are the locking type...
