Just take the boat out and open it up to top speed, if that does not blow the water off, apply the brakes firmly, that should do it.

After the rain or washing the deck there is always water on the deck. There is a drain but it is not located at the bottom of the recess it is located in. Any suggestions on either removing the water or drilling a hole in the recess? |

The water is on the floor in the sitting area and my awesome four winns trailer just snapped in half yesterday while trying to get boat out of the water. |

How much water are you talking about....if it's minimal surface water then there is no issue to worry about....all boats will have some areas where water will pool...haven't seen a deck yet that will drain every bit of water - even on self bailing skiffs. Afterall - people make boats not God:) I have some areas on my boat (and prior two boats) that did this.....on the H210 they have recesses just in front of the floor storage drain thru, anchor storage and in dash cooler drain that hold water. I just take a towel when the day is done and sop up those areas. I personally would not get into drilling drainage holes.....problem is you drain it from the deck and depending on the area you may be dumping that water into the flotation foam (sponge)....over time that will get extremely heavy and now you have greater issues to deal with. FYI - if anyone has noticed the cup holders in the cockpit area on the H210 have drains that dump water straight into the flotation foam.....i will be plugging mine up and if there is a spill i would rather soak it up with a towel than have smelly soda/beer etc soaking into the foam. Too bad about the trailer - what year is your setup? Was there any rust in that area? Saltwater use or fresh? I would be interested in seeing some pics of this and may be worth a call to a local Four Winns dealership to see if there may be any structural defect warranty they may honor. Just a thought, but that's scary and good thing you were not zipping down the road when that thing failed. |
