Well today I drove a boat for the first time. Took the new to me 180 LE out and it went pretty well. I was abit intimidated by the traffic and the wake left behind by the others. Got it up to a whopping 30mph in the straights. Learned how to corner. Boy I felt like I was in drivers ed again. It's amazing what you need to pay attention to out there. All in all a pretty good day. Thursday I head out for day 2 of my training. If your on gull lake, mi Thursday I apologize in advance :) hope today was good for everyone.

That's what it's about, learning, having fun and being safe. When I started boating I read and learned alot on the Internet (right of way, docking, practice maneuvers, ect). Have fun, enjoy and be safe.

I can tell from your post that you have the right attitude about it, and that's the most important thing. If you haven't taken a boater ed course, I strongly encourage it. Even one of the free online ones will teach you more than you might think. In no time you'll be an all-around better boater than some of those people who just make life difficult for everyone else.
