Anybody have a picture/diagram of how the bow hook with the facrtory scuff plate is attached on the INSIDE of the boat? Is it just two bolts/nuts with some sort of backing plate? Mine is appearing to be coming away from the boat, but amazingly doesnt feel "loose". I need to get inside and feel around a little bit I guess. |

Should just be bolted on there. Tighten it up a bit. |

Steve, Take it off and have a look at it ![]() I believe you will find that the plate is a formed piece with a ubolt welded through it. Not sure why it would be starting to come away from the bow now but can only guess that the bolts in the anchor locker may have become loose a little (But not enough for you to feel). I would suggest that you remove the plate and apply some 5200 to the holes and then rebolt. I seem to recall somebody here inquiring about buying one for their boat and they showed a picture of the unit. |

It's just the two bolts on the inside. Mine was sealed to the hull with 4200 or 5200 at the factory (there's a touch of squeeze-out around the edges). |

i think its accessed inside the anchor compartment, you should be able to look down and see the nuts, definitely should be sealed on with 4200 or 5200. |

Good news and I guess, bad news... 1. Good news is that the nuts were both a little loose, so I dont have any fiberglass damage internally to be concerned about. 2. Bad news is that there is not access via the anchor locker in my boat. I have to reach in from the side via the flip up bow seats. Its hard to get enough leverage to get it real tight with a wrench....I need to get a 3/4" deep socket to finish it off....no big deal. |
